D.C.,
I think I lost a couple follow-ups I posted. I'm too tired to write them again so I'll sum up. I've got 22,000 miles on my '96 savage and it's still going strong. I've seen postings on this forum where folks had said they had upwards of 50,000 miles. For oil changes, remember that the manual gives specs in liters and in the US most bottles are in quarts so be careful not to overfill, this could account for leakage. Lastly, rear wheel squeak could be due to saddlebag bolt rubbing inside tire - it may need to be ground down if you indeed have saddlebag supports. Oh, try a kidney belt and gel pad to alleviate kidney pains. Good luck!
